It is about 3 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. According to visitors who have gotten there, you should use your own vehicle or rent a vehicle. The junction to Bukit Piniapat can be seen after you cross the Sungai Mempakad bridge from the Kota Marudu-Pitas road. The journey to the ticket booth takes 10 minutes.
