Kellie’s Castle located at Perak’s Batu Gajah near Ipoh, originally owned and built by a young Scotsman, William Kellie Smith who moved to British Malaya, now Malaysia. This is a gift for his wife, Agnes. In 1915s, William Kellie Smith imported 70 over Tamil workers, and bricks and marble form India to build this castle and expected to be finished in 10 years time.
Unfortunately, he contracted pneumonia and died suddenly at the age of 56 in Lisbon, leaving the mansion to his wife and children. His wife and the children then never came back to Malaya, and the unfinished mansion was sold by his wife. It has now became a place that is famous for photo and video shooting.
